Google Classroom assignment sharing in Schoolytics
Schoolytics allows teachers to share Google Classroom assignments with other teachers, colleagues, and administrators, regardless of whether they are co-teacher. This article shows how to: (1) share Google Classroom assignments in Schoolytics, and then (2) use this feature to support instructional planning and teaching.
How does assignment sharing work?
You can share Google Classroom assignments with other teachers from the Schoolytics Library. In order to share an assignment, the assignment must first be saved to a Course folder in My Schoolytics Workspace.
How to share an assignment in Schoolytics
First, create a Course folder in My Schoolytics Workspace
Then, choose an assignment from your Assignment History and click Classroom
Click Add to Classroom
Choose where to save the assignment.
Select the folder and click Move Here.
Then, select Save to Workspace to finalize your selection.
Your assignment is saved in the My Schoolytics Workspace folder and ready to share. Go to My Schoolytics Workspace and click Manage Sharing on the folder.
Enter your colleague's email address and then click update.
Teachers receive an automated email notification when a folder is shared.
Types of sharing access
Co-teachers are suggested by default. However, you can share with any teacher at your school simply by typing in their email address.

- View the assignment
- Reuse a copy of the assignment
- Editor
- View the assignment
- Shared editing of the assignment. Any changes made will be reflected in both of your workspaces.
- Create a copy and reuse a copy of the assignment
- Manager
- View the assignment
- Shared editing of the assignment. Any changes made will be reflected in both of your workspaces.
- Share with other teachers
- Delete the assignment (coming soon)
Permission for attached files
When sharing an assignment, editing access to links within the assignment are not automatically shared. Update the sharing settings in Drive to give other teachers access to view or edit files within the assignment.
Limitations on sharing
Topics, Grading Categories, Rubrics, and Due Dates are not transferred when sharing an assignment.
